The Ignatian Spirituality Centre (ISC) in Glasgow is under the care of the British Province of the Society of Jesus - Jesuits.

The Jesuits in Britain are committed to promoting a culture of safeguarding in which everyone involved with the mission and works of the Jesuit Province is well informed about safeguarding, knows how to respond to concerns or allegations, and knows how to protect children and adults at risk.  The Jesuits in Britain are committed to adopting and implementing best practice in safeguarding and will regularly review its policy, procedures and practice to achieve this.

The ISC also comes under the jurisdiction of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Glasgow Safeguarding.

The ISC does not put on events for children under 18.  Any children brought into the Centre are under the supervision of their own parents, teachers or guardians.

Although there are very few people who come to the ISC who are technically regarded as 'vulnerable adults', we do recognise that in the ministries of retreat giving and spiritual accompaniment-direction any adult can be vulnerable at times.  Our safeguarding policy is that all who exercise the ministry of either spiritual accompaniment or retreat giving on a regular basis in the ISC undergo full safeguarding training under Tier 2 as provided by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Glasgow's Safeguarding Office.

For transparency and safety, all rooms in the ISC used for one to one meetings have glass walls or glass windows in the door.

The Director of the ISC is the chief Safeguarding Officer for the Centre.
